Reema Lagoo was always considered one of the most loved onscreen mothers in Bollywood. Though she had played moms to a number of actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Kajol, Madhuri Dixit and others, she was maximum seen as Salman Khan’s mother right from his first film as lead actor, Maine Pyar Kiya to other Blockbusters like Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Judwaa, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar and so on.
This is probably the reason why she had made a special bond with the Tubelight actor onscreen and offscreen. When asked about Salman in one of her throwback interviews, Reema Lagoo seemed all praise for her onscreen beta. She said, “Our career was started more or less at the same time. So, it’s a different relationship between us. We were like family friends and he has maintained that. I am very much fond of Salman and I really love him.”
Reema Ji went to extend, “I love his smile because I always believe a smile is the mirror of one’s personality. He is an innocent and good-hearted person and it reflects in his smile.”
As far as Shah Rukh Khan is concerned, the actor too had a great chemistry with Reema Lagoo. They together shared screen spaces in many movies like Yes Boss, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho among others.
Being asked about Shah Rukh, Reema ji revealed, “I love his intensity and sincerity towards the work. There’s a passion in that man and he performs every character in an amazing way.”
Well, Reema Lagoo’s sudden demise a certainly a great lose to Indian cinema. Her funeral was attended by many B-town celebrities like Rishi Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Kajol and others. The great soul would be missed, yes definitely.
