Two conditions of Akshay Kumar for T-Series’ ‘Mogul’

When Akshay Kumar recently announced the biopic of Gulshan Kumar with T-Series, everybody wondered what happened to Divya Khosla Kumar’s film which was announced last year under the same production banner. Now, if a source from T-Series is to be believed, Akshay’s film with Divya has been shelved. The reason behind this is said to be creative differences. The script reportedly didn’t turn out as Akshay had expected and hence he turned down the film.

Revealing the real reason why Akshay is doing Mogul, DNA reports: “Akshay was signed on for Divya’s film, a romantic action thriller, a year ago, at a signing amount of Rs 5 crore. At the time, AK had liked the concept and given his nod. But for whatever reason, the script didn’t shape up to his expectations. Changes were requested to be made, Akshay didn’t like Divya’s handling of the film, but went along with it for a year.”

After few meetings, Bhushan Kumar and Akshay Kumar made a decision to change the project and director itself. Meanwhile, Subhash Kapoor directed ‘Jolly LLB 2’ released and became a big hit. Bhushan wanted to make a biopic on his father for a long time, so when he pitched the idea of Mogul as the replacement of Divya’s film to Akshay, he immediately said yes with few extra conditions.

“When the producer asked Akshay if he would act in and as Mogul, the actor agreed. But he had two conditions — one that he would be paid a whopper of an acting fee and that Subhash would direct it. The producer agreed and Mogul got started,” DNA reports.

Divya’s film however, has been put on the backburner for now — till the time she gets a new actor.
