Tubelight first Sunday Box Office collection: Monday collection prediction

Salman Khan’s much awaited film Tubelight had an apparently slow start collecting 21.15 crore on the opening day. The second day too even being weekend did not witness any such jump or growth at the Box Office numbers and managed to collect 21.17 crore. Now at the domestic market, the film’s total is 42.32 crore. However, Tubelight witnessed a big growth on the third day, which made the film happen to emerge as the highest weekend grosser of the year.

It was the first holiday for Tubelight and the film made almost most of it despite negative reviews the critics spread on social media. The start was almost the same as last 2 days and the morning shows marked the occupancy of 30-45%. The noon shows onwards, Tubelight boosted up where the occupancy went up to 65-75%. A number of circuits, specially Pune, Hyderabad and Punjab with the occupancy of 80%, 85% and 60% were excellent. Whereas in other circuits like Mumbai, Delhi and West Bengal the occupancy is reported to be 50%, 45-50% and 35-40% respectively. The evening shows also reported to perform well where the occupancy went to 70-90%.

From today NCR, Hyderabad, Kerala, West Bengal, Bihar, Mumbai and other muslim dominated areas boosted the collections of Tubelight. Most circuits had a good day whereas some went to see empty shows. A gigantic boost-up is expected for the late night shows as Eid is declared tomorrow in India. With all these, the trade experts think that Tubelight’s third day total should be definitely 25+ crore.

  • Total – 67.32 crore

 

Even if Tubelight manages to collect a little less than 20 crore on Sunday, the Salman Khan starrer film will be the top weekend grosser of the year. As Tubelight needs 17.16 crore to beat Raees’ weekend business i.e 59.48 crore. However, for now Tubelight third day collection is expected to be 25+ crore and that will take the film nearer to 70 crore.

Tubelight overseas record collection in Dubai, New Zealand

Talking about Tubelight’s overseas collection, the film is performing so well in a number of countries. In the gulf countries, Tubelight went to become Bollywood’s highest opening film beating Raees, Dangal, Jolly LLB 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Whereas, In New Zealand, Tubelight beats Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Aamir Khan’s Christmas release Dangal to become the Highest Weekend Grosser of 2017.
