Hardly a week is left for the gala release of the biggest film of 2017 ‘Tubelight‘. People and movie buffs’ curiosity and excitement for this Salman Khan starrer flick is sky high. And amidst all these, Tubelight is finally given a censor certificate on Friday afternoon.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given the Kabir Khan helmed humane drama an all-clear ‘U’ certificate. Tubelight has cleared the Censor test with just a single verbal cut and with no visual cut.
Tubelight’s review by Censor Board
Censor board members watched Salman’s Tubelight and they are all praises for the film. So much so that they felt the film to be a greater movie than Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Additionally, the censor board is tremendously impressed with the strong anti-war message that Tubelight puts forward.
“Salman Khan’s films are always clean and family-oriented. But this one (Tubelight) is even more wholesome and family- oriented than Bajrangi Bhaijaan. There is an innocence about the film and Salman’s character which is enormously appealing. Kids will love Salman’s character. He is like a child in the film”, says a source from The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Tubelight passed Censor Board test with one verbal cut
As mentioned, only a single verbal deletion the censor board has made from Tubelight. There is the word ‘Haraamzaada‘ in the film and it is that offending at all. But the censor board members felt that there is a sparkling innocence around Tubelight, so much so that they decided to omit the word from such a beautiful film.
“The expletive ‘Haraamzaada’ is uttered in the film. Normally we would have let it remain. But there is such a charming innocence about Tubelight, we felt that word jars the film’s sensibilities.” CBFC explains.
Again, Salman starrer Tubelight is the first major film of 2017 to get ‘U’ certification from the censor board. So far other big stars’ films, namely Shah Rukh Khan‘s Raees, Hrithik Roshan‘s Kaabil, Akshay Kumar‘s Jolly LLB 2 have all been granted ‘UA’ certificates. Now this ‘U’ certification will make the audiences to go with the family and that will definitely lead Tubelight for huge Box office numbers.
Tubelight is periodical humane drama where 1962’s Indo-Sino war serves as a backdrop. Besides Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Chinese actress Zhu Zhu Juju, Om Puri, Isha Talwar and Shah Rukh Khan to be seen in Tubelight.
