Hrithik Roshan to play a mathematician in Anand Kumar’s biopic ‘Super 30’
In his career spanned over 17 years, superstar Hrithik Roshan has left no stone unturned and played every possible role he could have played. Now the Kaabil actor is trying his hand in the biopic genre. Post Kaabil, a number of speculations came out about Hrithik’s next, some said it would be with Kabir Khan, then some other went to claim it to be No Entry Mein Entry. However, all of them turned out to be rumours only and after a mini-break, Roshan Jr has signed his first biopic, based on the life of Patna-based genius mathematician, Anand Kumar.
Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Super 30’ Story, Plot
Tentatively titled Super 30, the biopic will trace the life of Anand and his rise to fame after setting up the magical Super 30 program that promotes unprivileged IIT aspirants in India. Kumar started the Super 30 program in Patna fifteen years back (2002). Over years, Anand still continues to do so. The genius mathematician had studied in a Hindi Medium government school, he was magical in mathematics.
Anand Kumar’s reaction on his biopic: Anurag Basu was to direct Super 30 before Vikas Bahl
Not Vikas Bahl but Jagga Jasoos director Anurag Basu was to direct Super 30, reveals Anand Kumar himself. Things with Anurag didn’t work out and when he heard about Vikas helming the project, he agreed immediately.
“After the fiasco of Anurag Basu’s proposed film (based) on me, I was very careful about who I said yes to. Vinay Sinha, his daughter Priti Sinha and Phantom Films, who are producing the film on me, struck me as sincere people. When they asked me if I would like the biopic to be directed by Vikas Bahl, I readily agreed.”
“How can someone so handsome as Hrithik Roshan play me?” Anand Kumar’s reaction on Hrithik playing him
When the genius mathematician came to know that Greek God Hrithik Roshan would be playing him onscreen, he was like
“I don’t get the time to watch that many films. But I’ve seen Hrithik Roshan’s Kaho Na…Pyar Hai and Krrish. He is outstanding! I am happy that a star as talented and popular as Hrithik Roshan is playing me. And such a handsome man! My only fear is how can someone so handsome play me?”
Super 30 mathematician Anand Kumar felt hurt with Anurag Basu
“I am not used to the ways of the entertainment world. I am a simple man with no craving for recognition or money. I was just happy that my message of education for all would be spread through the film. When Anurag Basu suddenly became inaccessible, it was a big blow to my sentiments. Hopefully this time it will all be fine. Woh kehte hai na, der aaye durust aye (whatever happens happens for the best).” Kumar added.
Well, as sources informed, Hrithik will meet the mathematician either in Mumbai or Patna very soon. And there is expected a series of meetings between the 43 year old actor and the genius mathematician in near future.
