Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor are Finalized as leading heroines in Sanjay Dutt Biopic Alongside Ranbir Kapoor
In recent years, biopic has emerged as a quite demanding genre in Bollywood, and what follows next is Munnabhai MBBS actor Sanjay Dutt’s biopic, tentatively titled ‘Dutt’. So, if you’re waiting for this biopic, you have a reason to rejoice as here we have brought to you some exclusive updates about this movie. As all of you know that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil star Ranbir Kapoor will essay Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani directorial venture, but the names of the heroines were uncertain till now.
Actually, 3 Idiots director has finally confirmed the names for the leading ladies to be found in Sanjay Dutt’s biopicq. And Sonam Kapoor and Anushka Sharma to play pivotal roles in Ranbir starrer Dutt biopic. Ranbir and Sonam were last seen together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed Saawariya (2006) which was debut film for both actors. And reports suggest, Sonam will be playing Tina Munin, Sanjay’s first co-star and girlfriend.
As a source close to Sanjay Dutt biopic added, “Her (Sonam’s) character is not reflective of any particular woman but is a fictional amalgamation of the many women Dutt dated through the 1980s and 90s.”
While Anushka Sharma is to be seen with Ranbir again after their 2015 released periodical drama Bombay Velvet. The Sultan actor’s role in Dutt biopic is that of a journalist, and reportedly is based on Rhea Pillai, Sanjay Dutt’s first wife.
Another name that will join the Dutt Biopic cast is that of Vicky Kaushal who received highly acclaim for his performance in Neeraj Ghaywan’s ‘Masaan,’ and next in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ Vishal-Shekhar. Making it official, Sanjay Dutt’s wife Maanayata shared from her Instagram account, a picture of herself alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Rajkumar Hirani, from Raju’s birthday celebrations and captioned the picture as #teambiopic.
So, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen essaying Sanjay Dutt and for that he is said to be undergoing a complete transformation in order to make the look perfect. It also informed an international team has been hired to do prosthetics of Ranbir for Dutt biopic, as megastar Amitabh Bachchan did for Paa and Shahrukh Khan for Fan.
Based on the real life of Sanjay Dutt, his rise and fall, the imprisonment and controversies, is reportedly to release by the end of 2017.
