Salman Khan’s latest blockbuster ‘Sultan’ had its World TV Premiere on 15th October on the Sony Max Channel. And as ‘Sultan’ broadcast on Television, both the sport drama ‘Sultan’ and Sony Max made new records. First one is, Sony Max had a huge income of 50 Crore from the advertisements during the ‘Sultan’ World TV Premiere which perhaps the highest ever as reports say. Again, while it generally takes one week to be revealed the exact TRP (Television Rating Point) of a show, reports and sources already claiming Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ to be the most watched film of 2016 and will become the movie with the highest rated Bollywood film ever, having the highest TRP level.

If we go with the history, Aamir Khan starrer 2009 released ‘3 Idiots’ was the Bollywood film with highest TRPs on its World TV Premiere with 10.9 ratings. Interestingly, this Rajkumar Hirani directorial remained on the top position in the ‘Films With Highest TRP’ for a long time. Many films mostly Salman’s (Dabangg with 9.2 TRP, Bodyguard with 10.3 TRP) came closer to break the record of ‘3 Idiots’ but it stayed unbroken until 2015 released Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ shattered the record of ‘3 Idiots’ with a huge margin and came up as the highest TRP (Television Rating Point)-rated Bollywood film ever with 15.5 TRP rating on its World TV Premiere on Star Gold.

But as Salman Khan in ‘Sultan’ says ‘Only one person can defeat Sultan, and it’s Sultan himself’, the TRP records that ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan once made finally broken by Salman’s another SuperHit film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. The second Highest Grossing Film of 2015, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ gathered 16.4 TRP on its Television Premier which is the Highest TRP for any Bollywood film till now and Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ seems to challenge it.

As past says, if a film was immensely successful in the Box Office, then it’s not difficult to be the film with one of the highest TRP when it comes to TV as Premier. As ‘3 Idiots’ which was once the highest Grossing Film in Box Office had been the film with Highest TRP on Television, the same happened with Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’, ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’, and it’s won’t be unfair to assume that Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ will become if not the highest, one of the highest TRP earners as a Bollywood film for it is the Top Grossing Film of 2016 and 3rd Highest Grossing Bollywood Movie Ever.

If we look at the list of Top 10 Films With Highest TRP, Salman Khan’s proves the undisputed King, having his 4 films (Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Dabangg, Bodyguard) in the list, additionally with Top 2 of the list ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘PRDP’, Aamir Khan with 3 films (Ghajini, 3 Idiots, PK), Shah Rukh Khan with 2 films (Chennai Express and Ra.One) and Ajay Devgn with 1 movie (Singham).
