Salman Khan to be seen as Lord Shiva in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film based on Amish Tripathi’s novel, ‘The Immortals Of Meluha’!
Remember ‘Shhuddhi‘? Yes, that film which Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was supposed to do much earlier is in the news again. And if everything goes well, the ‘Sultan‘ actor will be seen doing the same film with none other than Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Actually, Producer director Karan Johar announced a screen adaptation of Amish Tripathi’s bestselling novel, ‘The Immortals Of Meluha‘ with the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘ actor back in 2014 after Hrithik Roshan walked out. The project developed as ‘Agneepath’ director Karan Malhotra came on board and KJo officially announced that ‘Shhuddhi’ would star Salman Khan and would release in Diwali 2016′.

However, later the news came that Salman walked out of the project and newcomer Varun Dhawan had signed for role. Things had been going well and leading lady Alia Bhatt started preparing for it until ‘Shhuddhi’ got shelved for no time.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali buys ‘The Immortals Of Meluha’ rights from Karan Johar and Salman Khan agrees to the project!
After a long time, master director Sanjay Leela Bhansali acquired the filming rights of ‘The Immortals Of Meluha’ from Karan to revive the latter’s jinxed project. As per recent reports, the ‘Bajirao Mastani‘ director has approached Salman Khan for this big project. Bhansali had been waiting for a long while to work with his old friend again. And apparently Salman too has given his nod to the same film, provided that Bhansali himself directs it.
On the other hand, the actor who will be seen next in ‘Tiger Zinda hai‘ gave a hint of working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in a recent press conference by naming Bhansali as one of the directors of his future projects.
The film will be much grander with Bhansali’s association and one of the most expensive Bollywood films ever made. Too early to talk about but it should go on floors in 2018. Well, it would be a treat to watch Salman Khan in a never seen before avatar, as Lord Shiva in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus. Better later than never!
