Salman Khan Ali Abbas Zafar’s next Ode to My Father remake to start after Race 3
Can you recall the reports of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan working on the Ode To My Father remake? Seems like there is a development of the project just took place from the makers front. As Salman confirmed, the film is titled Bharat and Ali Abbas Zafar will again on the director seat after Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Bharat is a joint production venture of his sister Alvira Agnihotri and sister-in-law Atul Agnihotri. And recently Atul went to visit Salman and Ali on the sets of Tiger Zinda Hai to discuss the project. Furthermore there are some exciting updates coming out on the same.
Salman Khan to play the role of an old man in Ode to My Father remake!
Bharat is an official remake or better say Indian adaptation of the highest grossing Korean film Ode To My Father. No wonder Salman Khan Ali Abbas Zafar’s next film is going to be high in scale. Most noteworthy it will have a periodical backdrop of India-Pakistan partition. And for the first time in 29 years of his career, Salman will be seen playing the character of an old man.
“It is set against the backdrop of the India-Pakistan Partition and will continue to the present day. And so, Salman will be seen ageing through the film. So, he will have different looks throughout the film, depicting various ages,” says a source.

Not just that, there is also much more to come. As Salman will start off as a teenager and the story will trace his life, he finally becomes an aged person in the end. Bharat makers will use Hollywood technique to show this transformation on screen perfectly. It is the same technique that the makers of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button used to show different ages of Brad Pitt.
The source also adds, “It will be a combination of prosthetics and age-reduction technology. The makers are getting a special team that will do the prosthetics for the film. For the CGI, the makers are going to use the same technique that the makers of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button used to show different ages of Brad Pitt in the film. But it’s not the same special effects team from Hollywood. They are just using the same technique.”
Ode to My Father remake release date and shooting details
While Salman Khan earlier said that he will start shooting for Bharat after Remo D’souza’s dance film.
“The script of Dabangg 3 is ready. It’s going to start during Bharat, which is Atul and Alvira’s (Agnihotri) film that Ali (Abbas Zafar) is directing. That starts after Remo’s film. Atul’s film requires some gaps. So between the schedules for Atul’s film, I will shoot for Dabangg 3”, the 51 year old actor informed.
However, trade experts believe due to the change in Salman’s upcoming line ups, he will start Bharat right after Race 3. The film will go on floors in mid 2018 eyeing for Eid 2019 release. We just cannot wait for Salman Khan Ali Abbas Zafar’s next.
