Mangal Pandey The Rising was Aamir Khan’s comeback film after he had gone into hiatus after Dil Chahta Hai (2001). The movie premiered in the Marché du Film section of the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. Upon release, the film underperformed at Box Office and was declared a flop.
