Kangana Ranaut Nepotism debate: Gets support from Kareena Kapoor Khan
Nepotism has never been a new thing in Bollywood but it has turned out to be debate issue in recent times. It started off with Kangana Ranaut calling Karan Johar ‘the flag bearer of Nepotism’ on Koffee With Karan. And recently it went to make a series controversies following IIFA awards show nights. When hosts Saif Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar took a dig at Kangana Ranaut and the nepotism debate.
While KJo made a public apology, his student Varun too followed him and tweeted an apology. Furthermore Saif wrote an open letter explaining ‘genetics’ and ‘campism’ in Bollywood. Now Kareena Kapoor Khan went to break her silence over the matter.
Kareena Kapoor Khan’s comment on Nepotism debate in Bollywood
In an interview to Filmfare magazine, Kareena said, “Nepotism is overrated. A lot of things seem out of context. Doesn’t nepotism exist in every possible field? But nobody addresses that. In business families, the son takes over the business. A politician’s son takes over his place. We don’t consider these nepotism but in the industry it makes for a nice read.”
The Bajrangi Bhaijaan further went to add, “Not many star-kids have achieved what their parents have. So I don’t understand why people are going on about it. Basically, the industry is a ruthless place. It’s about talent and survival of the fittest. Otherwise, a lot of star kids would’ve been No.1 stars in our country,”
Interestingly, Bebo completely ignored the fact that her hubby is embroiled to the issue. And without any partiality she came forward in Kangana’s support. Kareena said the following.
“If there’s Ranbir Kapoor, there’s also Ranveer Singh who’s not from the industry. So honestly, nepotism is overrated. More than in business, more than in politics, in the industry, it’s your hard work and talent that will take you far. That’s exactly the reason why Kangana Ranaut is considered such a great actress. And she’s not from the industry. If there’s Alia Bhatt, there’s also Kangana. It’s not only about star kids.”
For the past few days, Kangana Ranaut is making headlines for her bold statements on Rajat Sharma’s show Aap Ki Adalat. At this moment, she finds film fraternities standing beside her, that is probably the nicest thing.
Well Kareena Kapoor Khan’s next movie is Veere Di Wedding that went on floors recently in Delhi. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar.
