2.0 is not postponed nor Padman is preponed: Will release according to the schedules
Freshly there were reports that Rajnikanth – Akshay Kumar starrer ‘2.0’ which is scheduled to release on 25th January 2018 has been pushed further to April 2018 due to heavy VFX work. And in this case, Akshay Kumar’s another film ‘Padman’ will release around Republic Day despite the fact that earlier the ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ actor has announced April as the release month of the same. However, these rumours turn out to be rumours only with absolutely no truth.
Trade analyst Taran Aadarsh took to Twitter to confirm that there is no change in the release date of the Rajini – Akki starrer. He wrote
“#2point0 release shifted to April 2018? No truth to it. 25 Jan 2018 it is and that’s final. Stars Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.”

Henceforth, both 2.0 and Padman will release as per the scheduled dates where the latter has few more portions left to shoot. Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 was scheduled to release on this Diwali. However, since the film is VFX heavy, the release date was pushed from Diwali 2017 to Republic Day 2018.
Well, the first teaser of the film will be unveiled on Diwali on 19th October, a day prior to ‘Golmaal Again’ hit the screens. While the trailer of S Shankar’s science fiction will be launched on 12th December through a grand event in Chennai as a part of the celebration of Rajinikanth’s 67th birthday.
