Superstar Aamir Khan’s Dangal finally hits the screens today. Dangal is a biopic based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phoghat whom Aamir Khan essayed in the movie.

Nitesh Tiwari directed Dangal gets a stormy start at Box Office. While the occupancy for the morning shows was average (near 40-50%), the afternoon and evening shows witnessed an amazing growth and the occupancy went to 70-85%. But the night shows prove to be the milestones, and witnessed 80-100% occupancy.

Dangal got an excellent opening and the first day Box office numbers are really excellent. Here are the reasons

  1. Dangal total screens count is around 5,300. Over 4,300 screens in India alone, and almost 1000 screens in the overseas.
  2. Well, ticket price for Dangal is also too high.
  3. Dangal releases on normal day, but it’s Christmas week and in many places Christmas and new year holidays have already started.
  4. Brilliant occupancy reports (mainly in multiplexes) for the evening and night shows.
  5. Dangal is getting positive reviews all over from the critics. While mouth of reports of the audiences for the movie is also good.
  6. Dangal collected 15 Crore from advance booking, and 50% of it, that is 7.5 crore is added to Friday collections.

All these reasons are behind the fact that Dangal’s opening day collections are terrific. And as early estimate suggests Dangal’s first day box office collection is more or less 28* Crore which is really brilliant for a normal day released film, and the second highest opening day of 2016 after Salman Khan’s Sultan which collected 36.54 Crore on its first day.
