Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha to Emerge As the Highest Grossing Bollywood Film of 2017!

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha: 5th Conservative 100 Crore for Akshay Kumar and Highest Grosser Bollywood Film of 2017!

As ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha‘ is having a terrific run at the Box Office, Bollywood finally gets rid of the junk that started after Baahubali 2 The Conclusion and continued for months. After a decent start with 13.1 Crore, there was looking back for this Akshay Kumar‘s satire comedy. The best thing is the wide acceptance of the audiences for such a risky film where a serious national issue had to be dealt in a commercial way and that too without making any harm to actual subject.

Toilet Ek Prem Katha Sets Highest Single Day Collections Record for Akshay Kumar

Within 3 days of its release, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ steadfastly crossed 50 Crore mark in India, taking the weekend collection to 51.45 Crore. And then the first Sunday proved to be historical as the film made a business of 21.25 Crore. It was first time for Akshay that any of film collects 20 Crore or more than that on the single day. Collections dropped down on Monday due to working day, however, the very next day there was national holiday and another 20+ Crore was served in the plate of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ on Independence Day.

Toilet Ek Prem Katha Beats Jab Harry Met Sejal in 4 Days!

Meanwhile in just 4 days, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ has surpassed the collections of Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ (60.50 Crore), that was supposed to release on the same date and heading towards Akshay Kumar’s 5th consecutive 100 Crore grosser (Airlift, Housefull 3, Rustom and Jolly LLB 2). ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’s performance has been much similar to Salman Khan’s’ Tubelight’. However, ‘Tubelight’ could not survive much longer for negative reviews and ended up at 117.02 Crore. Contrary to this, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ seems to perform much well in the next 2 weeks too and mostly like to emerge as the highest earning Bollywood film of 2017, beating Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ (128.77 Crore).
