Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey were the first one’s to fix Independence Day 2017 as release date for his film but with Shah Rukh Khan releasing his next film directed by Imtiaz Ali in the same slot, Khiladi star Akshay Kumar has postponed Crack to 2018. Earlier this week, Salman Khan surprised followers by releasing the first look and release date of Shah Rukh Khan’s next film, Directed by Imtiaz Ali. This film also co-stars Anushka Sharma.
So the film, tentatively titled “The Ring” is releasing on 11 August 2017. But from the beginning itself, the Independence Day week had already booked by by Akshay Kumar who had announced the release of Crack, directed by Neeraj Pandey. they are collaborating after Special 26 and Baby. Reportedly Akshay Kumar fixed down a small meet with the duo and convinced them that postponing of Crack will be best move.
Akshay Kumar already has four big films lined up in 2017, Like Naam Shabana, Jolly LLB2, Toilet :Ek Prem Katha and obviously the big film 2.0 with Rajinikanth. A source of us close to the production team said “Akshay has many films opening in 2017, so instead of clashing with other film, that too an SRK-Anushka starrer made by Imitiaz Ali, he just opted to give time to Crack and pick a solo release date. He is now in talks to release Crack around Republic Day in 2018. Airlift and Baby did well and they released on Republic Day.”
